This sumptuous cushion features one strip of vintage Kente and two strips of Fathia cloth, a well known Kente design which literally means ‘Fathia is a fitting wife for Nkrumah’ (Ghana’s first president). Upon the overthrow of Nkrumah in 1966 attempts were made to change the name of the design but it is still popularly known as Fathia.
This beautiful, durable handwoven narrow loom fabric is made by Bob Dennis Ahiagble and his weavers, using traditional materials and techniques.
The cushion back and front base fabric is 100% cotton, high quality 10oz black denim. The back zip is concealed behind a generous overlap.
For huggable, hardwearing comfort, our cushions are filled with a premium, 100% UK, duck feather pad. Certified STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX for being climate and health friendly.
