This is a well known Kente designs and literally means ‘Fathia is a fitting wife for Nkrumah’ (Ghana’s first president). Upon the overthrow of Nkrumah in 1966 attempts were made to change the name of the design but it is still popularly known as Fathia. This striking black, gold and green Fathia Fata Nkrumah is hand woven in Ghana by Bob Dennis Ahiagble and his weavers.
